Grab and Go Sites Across the City to Provide Breakfast and Lunch during the First Nine Weeks of School
PITTSBURGH, PA August 28, 2020 –– Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2020, Pittsburgh Public Schools will provide Grab and Go meals for families during the first nine weeks of E-Learning. Both breakfast and lunch Grab and Go meals will be available for parents and/or students to pick up at 27 schools Mondays thru Fridays (except for holidays).
Breakfast/Lunch will be available between 7:00 AM - 9:00 AM, and then again, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Parents or students may pick-up both breakfast and lunch during any time slot. Grab and Go sites will be closed for Labor Day (September 7) and Yom Kippur (September 28).
“While cafeterias are closed for a traditional school setting, our food services staff is ready to provide nutritious meals for the first nine weeks of E-Learning,” said Dr. Anthony Hamlet, Superintendent. “We invite families to visit a nearby Grab and Go site for breakfast and lunch.”

Pittsburgh Public Schools Food Service will also provide snacks and dinner for the Child and Adult Café Program (CACFP) at the following Citiparks and Community sites:

Pittsburgh Public Schools and Paragon will no longer distribute a mixed bag of fresh vegetables every Thursday at five PPS schools. The partnership has provided free food to thousands of PPS families weekly since May 28. Pittsburgh Public Schools appreciates the partnership with Paragon foods, providing healthy food options for the past 13 weeks.
