County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey, and guests were invited to Pittsburgh Perry on Wednesday for a press briefing to recognize the ninth anniversary of the county-wide, Learn & Earn Summer Youth Employment Program and open the application period. Learn & Earn aims to prepare qualified young people, ages 14-21, for a successful future through six weeks of paid summer employment.
As part of the press briefing, Pittsburgh Perry student Tyenne Williams shared how she uses the skills she has learned in Learn & Earn to take on leadership roles within her school community, such as becoming a member of the Student Safety Ambassadors. The Safety Ambassadors also joined Tyenne in a show of support.
