    College Ready, Career Ready, Life Ready

    PPS Graduates in Caps and Gowns To ensure the District meets its vision of “all students graduating high school college, career, and life ready prepared to complete a two- or four-year college degree or workforce certification,” the Board adopted a resolution supporting multiple readiness indicators proposed by the Redefining Ready! campaign. 

    A national campaign launched by The School Superintendents Association (AASA), Redefining Ready! introduces a new multi-metric, research-based approach to determining what it means to be college, career, and life ready. The effort moves away from utilizing one standardized test to judge all to a focus on readiness. 

    Pittsburgh Public Schools has identified ensuring all students are equipped with the skills to succeed in college, career and life as one of four long-term outcomes in its 2017-2022 Strategic Plan Expect Great Things. The indicators proposed by Redefining Ready! go beyond GPA, attendance, and performance on standardized tests to develop a comprehensive picture of student potential.
