Pittsburgh Westwood proudly hosted its Annual Fall Reading Day, a cherished tradition led by Mr. Mike Nichols and Pittsburgh Westwood's Principal Dr. Michael Perella. The event brings the entire community together to inspire a lifelong love of reading. Each fall, guest readers visit classrooms to share stories, spark imagination, and demonstrate the power of literacy.

This year, our students were honored to read alongside an incredible group of community leaders and role models, including Nick Martini, Antoine Smalls, Lawson Fisher, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Melissa Pearlman, Ms. Lori Marabello, Ms. Denija DuCasse, Coach David Saur, student-athletes Maria Barela and Jordyn Jensen, Ms. Alexis Walker, EMS Chief Amera Gilchrist, and Board President Gene Walker.

Guest readers shared their favorite books or selected from our school library’s wonderful collection, creating meaningful moments that uplift, motivate, and nurture a love for learning.

This annual tradition at Pittsburgh Westwood continues to remind our students that reading opens doors, builds confidence, and connects our entire community.
