The Williams Family
Making an impact in four different schools.
Magnet programs are what first attracted the Williams family to Pittsburgh Public Schools. But parents Jamaine and Andrea soon discovered that caring teachers are what really make the difference and put every child on the right pathway. With six children attending four different schools—Mifflin, Phillips, Schiller and Allderdice—the Williams’ say it’s important to know what’s going on in school. They volunteer in the classroom, attend Parent School Community Council meetings, serve on the PBIS committee at Schiller, and participate in events related to Title 1 programs. “It makes me smile when I see my parents in my building,” says daughter Nicole. “They are always so supportive of everything we do.”
