Happening Now: PPS ELECT Snowflake Social 2025

Today’s Snowflake Social is a beautiful example of what happens when compassion, community, and commitment come together in service of our students.

The Pregnant and Parenting Teen Services ELECT Program continues to be a cornerstone of support for young parents across Pittsburgh Public Schools. Under the thoughtful leadership of its director, this team consistently creates welcoming spaces where students feel seen, supported, and empowered—academically, emotionally, and practically.

We are especially grateful to share that former Pittsburgh Steeler Tyson Alualu  quietly showed up, as he always does, without fanfare. Over the past two days, Tyson has gone above and beyond, helping shop for essential items to ensure today’s event was meaningful and successful for our students and families. This steady, behind-the-scenes support over the past two years has made a lasting impact on the ELECT community.

Today’s event is further strengthened by outstanding partners including Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), Job Corps, and Reading Is Fundamental, all sharing resources and opportunities that support education, career pathways, and literacy for young parents and their children.

From the Baby Bucks Store and hot chocolate activity to raffle baskets and community connection, today reflects the heart of the ELECT Program—meeting students where they are and surrounding them with care.

💙 We are deeply proud of this team and grateful to everyone who continues to invest in the success of our pregnant and parenting students.
