StopFinder

 

Pittsburgh Public Schools is adopting Stopfinder, an all-in-one, easy-to-use mobile app that allows families to view and share their student’s transportation schedule.

 

Pittsburgh Carmalt will be the first school to pilot Stopfinder during the 2025–2026 school year. If successful, Pittsburgh Public Schools plans to expand the use of Stopfinder to additional First Student–operated buses by the end of the school year.

 What the App Can Do

With Stopfinder, families can:

• View their student’s daily transportation assignments, including transfer trips and stops
• Securely share transportation schedules with caregivers
• Receive transportation-related notifications and updates

For districts using the GeoAlerts feature:

• Receive real-time vehicle location notifications based on custom GeoAlert regions created for your student

For districts using the Feedback feature:

• Send private messages directly to Pupil Transportation

For districts using the ETA feature:

• Receive Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) notifications based on your student’s stop

Install the App

The Stopfinder app is available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Accessing Student Schedules

• Access to student transportation schedules is limited to designated contacts approved by the Transportation Department.
• Primary Stopfinder contacts may choose to share their student’s schedule with caregivers (sub-subscribers).
• An email invitation with instructions to activate your Stopfinder account will be sent to eligible contacts.
