Pittsburgh Public Schools and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Summer Reading 2025
Summer Reading Lists 2025
June 1-August 10
In partnership with the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, we invite YOU to take part in this year’s K–12 Citywide Summer Reading program—Flights of Imagination! Soar into a summer of reading where books will launch your creativity, expand your horizons, and fuel your dreams. Read for fun all summer long and participate in exciting activities that promote health, wellness, and imaginative exploration. Whether you're discovering new worlds, dreaming up your future career, or taking on reading challenges, you'll be strengthening your critical thinking, creativity, and curiosity. Summer reading helps prevent the “summer slide,” supports vocabulary development, boosts comprehension, and keeps academic skills sharp. It also nurtures empathy, broadens cultural awareness, and sparks new ideas. Pittsburgh Public Schools and the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will offer a wide range of fun events, challenges, and opportunities to earn incentives and win prizes all summer! Check out the PPS Prize List below—updated throughout the summer as students achieve reading milestones and unlock rewards. Take pictures throughout the summer and tag #PPSREADS on social media! Pictures can also be sent to afillmore1@pghschools.org. |
