Student Equity Advocates
Student Equity Advocate Mentoring Program

Launched during the 2019–2020 school year, SEAs were placed in secondary schools to provide consistent, targeted support to historically marginalized students—particularly Black students—through:
- Access to positive role models
- Extended learning opportunities
- Post-secondary preparation
- Culturally affirming and identity-anchored mentorship
Student Equity Advocates were tasked with working both independently and collectively, in close collaboration with school and community stakeholders, to help students build:
- A strong sense of belonging and agency
- Meaningful relationships
- A deeper investment in their education and future success
