Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates
The health and safety of our students and staff is a top priority. With the recent news reports of cases of the Coronavirus in the United States and locally, we want to ensure families that Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) is working closely with the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) and officials from the city, county, state and other superintendents to stay well informed.

On March 30, 2020, Governor Wolf announced all schools in the commonwealth will remain closed indefinitely as a result of the COVID-19 response efforts. As a result the District is preparing to begin remote "at home" instruction for all students after Spring Break. Student instruction will begin April 16, with orientation for remote learning and distribution of materials taking place on April 14 and April 15. The District will maintain the already scheduled spring break Monday, April 6 through Monday, April 13.
The PPS Food Service Department of will be closed during spring break, however, the District will deliver four days of meals, and Parkhurst Dining Services, through the generous support of the United Way, will be sending an additional two meals for distribution to sites on Friday, April 3rd.
