Employee Assistance Program

Pittsburgh Public Schools offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) program to all employees. The EAP is a cost-free workplace benefit offered through Journey. All EAP services are private and confidential.

Journey is dedicated to supporting your mental health – whether you're feeling overwhelmed by stress, seeking work-life balance, or simply looking for ways to improve your well-being.

Your Journey Benefits:

  • For your mental health, Journey provides short-term counseling, assessments, and referral services for you and your loved ones.
  • It also has a digital platform with on-demand content and live classes.
  • Additionally, Journey offers support for work-life issues like finances, legal matters, relocation, local resources, childcare, and more.

Your activity on the Journey platform, as well as any conversations with a clinician and any support you receive, is completely confidential. PPS will not receive any identifiable information about your use of Journey EAP. The only time your information might be shared is if emergency services need to get involved because you reported harm to yourself or others.

Journey offers many ways to access services based on your preferences.

  • You can call 1-888-851-7032 now to speak with a clinician immediately.
  • You can browse the library of content and resources on the web or through their mobile app.
  • Additionally, on the Journey homepage, you have the option to ask a question via email.

Journey is available to you for free, as PPS covers the entire cost. If you use all your sessions with a Journey therapist, they will help you find a provider that fits your insurance, budget, and needs.

Journey is also available to your loved ones for free. You can share Journey with as many family members and friends as you like. Their participation is completely confidential, just like yours. We encourage you to use Journey to support your loved ones because it's important to care for the whole "you" at work and at home. You can invite them through your profile. There is no limit to the number of loved ones you invite.
