Healthy You Webinar

Pittsburgh Public Schools has teamed up with Gateway Medical Society to host a series of webinars to help students and staff have a healthy start to the new school year. In addition, PPS staff will hold topic specific webinars to ensure a great start.  All sessions will be held from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 PM on zoom and streamed live on Facebook and the District’s website. Participants will receive a 15–20 minute presentation with an opportunity to ask questions. All information sessions will be recorded and closed captioning will be added before being posted online.

  • Charma D. Dudley Charma D. Dudley Ph.D., FPPR is a licensed psychologist and employed as the Associate Director of Behavioral Health Services at Beacon Health Options. She currently leads the Zero Suicide Taskforce at Beacon’s Pennsylvania Engagement Center, and also serves as Beacon’s representative for Anthem’s Inclusion and Diversity Health Equity Committee. In private practice, Dr. Dudley specializes in the treatment of individuals including children and adolescents with depression and anxiety. Other areas of specialization include consultation and training in cultural competency, clinical documentation, cognitive behavioral treatment, psychodrama, stress management and anger management. Dr. Dudley is also the author of Treating Depressed Children published by New Harbingers. Dr. Dudley has achieved diplomate certification in Psychopharmacology from the Prescribing Psychologist Register. Dr. Dudley is a member of the American Psychological Association and Pennsylvania Psychological Association.
  • Dr. Dale Adair Dr. Dale Adair serves as the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) Chief Psychiatric Officer and the Medical Director for the Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS). In this role he provides clinical expertise and consultation to the Deputy Secretary of OMHSAS and the Secretary of DHS. He provides input and guidance into the policies which affect the provision of mental health and substance use treatment throughout the state. He has been a leader in the development of the vision for PA’s First Episode Psychosis program; PA team efforts with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Accelerator-Substance Use Disorder project; Centers of Excellence (COE) for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder; Health Equity; and served as Project lead for the PA Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Program. He is involved with numerous efforts aimed at suicide prevention and currently serves as lead on Pennsylvania’s efforts to implement 988 as the new 3-d
  • August 9, 2022 – Nutrition Dr. Shantal Villalobos is a native of San Diego, California, although she spent her early childhood years in Tijuana, Mexico. Dr. Villalobos earned a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Plant Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from the University of California Berkeley. She also earned a Masters in Global Medicine with special interest in neglected tropical diseases at the University of Southern California before graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine where she completed a certificate in Clinical Research, focusing on social determinants of health. She completed her residency through UPMC with specialty tracks in Global Health and HIV. She then went on to become board certified in HIV and Family Medicine. Dr. Villalobos is currently working at the East Liberty Family Health Care Center, a Christian clinic, as a Family Medicine Physician providing care for all ages as a PCP and as a hospitalist.   • August 18, 2022 – Physical Activity Presenters:  Dr. Daniel Salahuddin Ryan Eldrige, Health, PPS Physical Education and Wellness Coordinator.Daniel Salahuddin has been living in Pittsburgh over the last five years, where he recently completed residency training in both Family Medicine & Psychiatry from UPMC McKeesport and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. He grew up in Bradenton, FL, completed his undergraduate studies outside of Tampa at Saint Leo University, and attended medical school at the University of Miami. He has been engaged in numerous community engagement initiatives in the area including ‘Ask a Black Doctor’ through 1Hood Media and the Gateway Medical Society and ‘Sundays at 7’ with Healthy Village Learning Institute. He will soon be starting work as an Assistant Professor with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine, and will also be working as a psychiatrist at Sto-Rox Family Health Center.
