Join Pittsburgh Public Schools, parent leaders, and families for an inspiring and empowering day of learning, connection, and community at Parent University 2025, taking place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Duquesne University. Centered around the theme “Cultivating Excellence through PPS: Purpose, Passion, and Success,” this event brings together parents, caregivers, educators, and community partners to prepare and empower families for the 2025–2026 school year.
Get ready for interactive workshops led by expert facilitators, an inspiring keynote address from Rev. Dr. Starsky Wilson, President & CEO of the Children’s Defense Fund (CDF) and CDF Action Council, exciting giveaways, and prizes throughout the day.
Explore the Parent Resource Center for valuable services and information including important Pittsburgh Public Schools resources and let your children enjoy the safe and fun Kids’ Corner filled with engaging activities. This year will be a year of passion, purpose, and success.
What is PPS Parent University?
Parent University is a dynamic, one-day collaborative learning experience designed to inspire, equip, and empower parents for the school year. Through engaging workshops, hands-on training, and powerful discussions, participants will gain the tools, confidence, and connections they need to support their children’s academic, social, and emotional success.

Step into the Parent Resource Center, where more than 30 community organizations, nonprofits, and corporate partners come together to connect families with valuable tools, services, and opportunities. Explore information on academic support, health and wellness programs, after-school activities, financial resources, and more all in one central location. Whether you’re looking for local programs or expert guidance, the Parent Resource Center is your hub for empowerment and connection.
Kids’ Corner

While parents are learning and connecting, children can enjoy a safe, engaging space just for them! The Kids’ Corner offers fun, hands-on activities, games, crafts, and interactive learning experiences led by caring staff and community volunteers. It’s designed to spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and make the day just as exciting for our youngest participants.
