Celebrating a 100-year old tradition of arts education in our schools.
The purpose of the annual All-City Arts Showcase is to provide access, equity and capacity beyond the arts classrooms by celebrating the arts learning, creativity and talents of the Pittsburgh Public Schools students in the four disciplines (visual arts, dance, music and theatre).
We are excited to announce the 100th anniversary of the All-City Arts Showcase (orginally the Music Festival) this year. In 1921, then PPS Music Director, Dr. Will Earhart, started the Music Festival of a vast chorus comprised of students across the district accompanied by an high school orchestra ensemble before an audience of several thousands.
During 2021, join us in celebrating arts education through two different experiences. First, with virtual showcases our students’ artistic talents and skills through concerts and exhibitions. Second, through a historical journey of the 'story' and stories of PPS students, their artistic achievements, arts milestones and its lasting impact it has on the city and its residents.
