School Climate Survey
This spring, Pittsburgh Public Schools will be administering a School Climate Survey to students in grades 6-12.
The survey focuses on students’ experiences in their school setting, and includes questions related to students’ experiences with peers and teachers at school, their sense of safety and belonging, and engagement with school activities. Click here to view a copy of the survey.
The primary participants are students in grades 6 – 8 at the following schools:
Arlington, Arsenal Middle, Brookline, Carmalt, Colfax, Classical, Greenfield, Langley, Manchester, Mifflin, Milliones, Morrow, Obama, Schiller, Sci Tech, South Brook, South Hills, Sterrett, Sunnyside, and Westinghouse. Students in grades 3 – 5 at Morrow and Liberty will also participate.
All other students in grades 6 – 12 who were actively enrolled as of February 23, 2024 are also able to take the survey. (Because the survey asks students to reflect on their experience in their school over time, students new to the building are not included in the survey.)
The survey window is May 20 – May 31, 2024. Students will access the survey online. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete once students have logged in.
Results will be available in mid-June, and will be used to have conversations and plan support for students, as well as to guide and inform the school climate and culture work that we do at the school and District level, and with partners.
