PPS Carnegie Library Summer Reading Partnership
Pittsburgh Public Schools is teaming up with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh to bring all PPS students an exciting summer reading adventure: Flights of Imagination! Students who join the fun can earn awesome prizes from both PPS and CLP!
The Summer Reading Log is your passport to adventure — it includes all the prize info and will be sent home as a printed copy with every student. It even has a QR code that links directly to our PPS Summer Reading website (not yet ready)! To help students choose their next great read, our amazing PPS Librarians are curating grade band "Best Of" book lists packed with recommendations that are fun, inspiring, and just right for each age group. Some lucky students will also receive a special summer reading bag from the Carnegie Library filled with surprises! And that’s not all — students who register early will receive free books (while supplies last)!
We’re also working on getting every 2nd grader heading into 3rd grade a Scholastic Summer Reading Pack as part of our push to meet the 3rd Grade Reading Goal — stay tuned, pending school board approval in May! Let’s make this summer one to remember — full of imagination, curiosity, and great reads!
