COOPERATIVE EDUCATION - ESSENTIALS FOR CTE STUDENTS

  • Cooperative Education students have an opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of their program’s task list by working in the field while they are in high school.

  • The process to get into Co-Op employment begins with the application process. Once the application is reviewed by the Co-Op Coordinator, the student and the Co-Op Coordinator will begin to look for job placement opportunities that align with the CTE program and the student’s career plan.

  • When the student is enrolled in Co-Op they are responsible for regular work and school attendance. Students are also responsible for meeting with the Co-Op Coordinator as scheduled. Students will be able to report any workplace concerns to the Co-Op Coordinator who will help them resolve the issues.

  • At the end of the Co-Op experience, students will complete an exit interview and survey. Participation in Co-Op will result in credit for the student’s CTE program and will be reflected on their transcript.
