Delays and Closures

The safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families remain our top priority. As we enter the season of unpredictable weather, we want to ensure everyone is informed and prepared for potential delays or school closures.

How We Communicate Weather-Related Updates

We are committed to timely, accurate communication and use multiple channels to keep families informed:

  1. Robocalls: Automated calls are sent to more than 47,000 unique phone numbers. Because of this volume, receipt times may vary.
  2. TalkingPoints Text Messages:Families will receive consistent, translated text updates through TalkingPoints.
  3. District Website: The most current information will be posted on the District’s homepage.
  4. Social Media: Follow our official accounts for real-time updates and announcements.
  5. Local News Outlets: We work closely with media partners to share school delay or closure information.

How Weather Decisions Are Made

The District typically begins assessing inclement weather conditions as early as 3:30 AM. Weather and road conditions can shift quickly, and transportation challenges may arise that impact our ability to operate safely.

Family Safety and Decision-Making

Above all, your child’s safety is our priority. If weather or road conditions in your neighborhood make it unsafe to travel, we encourage families and staff to use their best judgment and prioritize safety when deciding whether to report to school or work.
