CTE is the Career and Technical Education Division of Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS).
Under the leadership of Executive Director Angela Mike, there are 15 CTE programs located in 6 comprehensive high schools in our school district. PPS students who are rising 10th graders are eligible to participate in those programs - which are offered in 3-period blocks for 3 years.
CTE students are winners.  They are not waiting until after high school to figure out what to do with their lives. They have already taken an important step towards their future success. They have chosen CTE.
While still in high school, CTE students are earning workforce certifications.  They're earning dual enrollment college credits (in 3 programs:  Culinary Arts, Health Careers Technology, and RHVAC).  They're gaining hands-on training using state-of-the-art equipment specific to the career program they've chosen.  They're meeting industry professionals who can help with their future career goals.  They're going on field trips that allow them to visit college campuses and industry-specific job sites.
CTE provides students with the opportunity to receive technical skills that are in demand in the job market and college credit. CTE doesn't limit student options. CTE expands student options because academic rigor is incorporated into all programs.

Right now, CTE students are preparing for success. PPS students who are rising 10th graders have the opportunity to join their ranks, right now. What are you waiting for? Apply for a CTE program today.
