Pittsburgh Public Schools Board of Directors meets monthly and typically holds several monthly Committee meetings. Those Committee meetings include: Education, Business & Finance, and Personnel. All Board and Committee meetings, except Executive Sessions and Personnel meetings, are open to the public.
Education and Business Committee items proposed for consideration by the Board are developed by the Superintendent’s Cabinet.
In addition to the three Committees, Ad Hoc Subcommittees include three Board Members and meet as needed. All members of the Board are permitted to attend any Ad Hoc Subcommittee meeting.
Additional Ad Hoc Subcommittees include: Negotiations, Policy Manual, Government Relations, Marketing & Communications, Agenda Process, Audit, Teacher Effectiveness, Parent Engagement, Charter Schools, District Sustainability, School Safety & Security, Information & Technology, and Board Effectiveness.
