Pittsburgh Westwood PreK-5
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- When most of us were in school, we took science classes like biology and chemistry, but computer science may be even more important for today's kids. Yet nearly 90% of kindergarten through eighth grade students don't have access to computer science classes. KDKA-TV's Kristine Sorensen visited a local school where the nonprofit STEM Coding Lab is providing computer classes there and in schools around the region.
Pittsburgh Phillips K-5 had a slime the teacher event today to celebrate working hard to be respectful all month as part of their PBIS incentive. Third grade teacher Mrs. ElSabbagh was the brave staff member who was selected by students and families through a raffle at Back to School Night.
Superintendent Dr. Wayne N. Walters has been named the inaugural honoree of The Plant A Seed Experience. The experience supports the work of Plant A Seed Children’s Partnership Inc., which through its Working Supportive/Mentoring Curriculum supports youth with life skills that will guide them to better conflict resolution and decision-making - planting comprehensive skills for tomorrow’s generation today.
