The school prepares students by providing a rigorous curriculum that requires advanced coursework and is characterized by excellent instruction, exploration, and a commitment to achievement.
Vision
Our vision is to make SciTech more than a school; we want to be a launching pad for ideas, for the architects of future technologies, and for success for every student.
What are the measurable outcomes for our students? At SciTech:
Every student succeeds in advanced coursework
Every student selects a specific postsecondary opportunity before graduation
Every student demonstrates the ability to dream, to discover, and to designOur curriculum is tailored to students who have a passion for science, technology, engineering or math. Our environment is one of support for students, parents, and faculty. We exist to provide opportunities for students to Dream. Discover. Design. Every day, our students set goals and generate ideas, research and discover answers, and design real solutions for the kinds of real-world problems that they'll face after graduation. There is plenty of support for anyone who needs it and advancement opportunities for those who are ready to move ahead. An innovative schedule provides each student the time and support necessary to prepare for their advanced courses. We have a 1 to 1 laptop program for students.

Science & Technology Academy Early Childhood
PPS Early Childhood Education Programs provides early learning opportunities to approximately over 2,000 children a year from infancy through five-years of age throughout the City of Pittsburgh. The children and families served receive comprehensive services including education, nutrition, health, mental health, disabilities and social services. By meeting the needs of the “whole child” we ensure that all children are prepared for kindergarten entrance. All of our PPS Early Childhood classrooms operate for 6-hours a day. During that time all children are exposed to a research-based, high quality curriculum that is aligned to the PA Early Learning Standards and receive instruction individually, in small groups, and in whole group settings. Our children also have opportunities to receive specialized services in the classroom through our contracted providers or Early Intervention (as needed), to socialize with peers, and receive breakfast & lunch daily. To learn more about Early Childhood, visit www.pghschools.org/earlychildhood
