In an updated statement addendum to the below national release, The Uvalde Foundation For Kids announced Monday morning, from its Dallas, Texas headquarters, that it will be including a special recognition to Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) & the collaborative work between Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) Police & the Pittsburgh Police.

Are you looking to provide your child with the opportunity to become an internationally minded citizen of the world? If so, we have the program for you!
Pittsburgh Linden PreK-5 is a whole-school language elementary Magnet located in the neighborhood of Point Breeze. We provide a Pre-Kindergarten to fifth-grade program, where students receive language and culture exposure in Mandarin Chinese. All incoming Kindergarten students will be enrolled in the Mandarin Chinese language program. Students will learn to speak, read, and write in Chinese from our certified and bilingual foreign language teacher and experience the infusion of the culture and language through daily activities, interdisciplinary activities, and celebrations, such as, Chinese New Year. Those students in the Mandarin Magnet program have the opportunity to continue in the International Baccalaureate Magnet Program at Pittsburgh Obama 6-12 in 6th grade.
The motto of Pittsburgh Linden PreK-5 is to Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe, which help students to develop self-control, character, orderliness, safety, and efficiency.
Pittsburgh Linden PreK-5 offers a variety of extracurricular activities to students. These activities include: Safety Patrol, Chorus K-5, Instrumental Music, School-Wide Community Service Projects, Intramurals, Team Sports (Swimming, Basketball, Track and Field), Chinese cultural celebrations, Pittsburgh Center for the Arts Artist in Residency Program, and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and After-School Clubs (Art Club, and Strong Women Strong Girls).

Students and Teachers Achieving Results (STAR) is a school-level award to recognize all staff represented by the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers in schools making extraordinary gains in student achievement.
