ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
-
Pittsburgh Dilworth PreK-5 is a traditional Magnet school with an emphasis on arts integration and humanities for all subject areas. We believe that all children can learn, and education begins with a safe and healthy learning environment. Our very active parents and highly trained and dedicated staff help to make the students' achievement dreams come true through partnering and communication. It is our goal to help students understand how our world and lives are interconnected through their academic, arts, and humanities experiences.
As a school family, we strive to make our students Promise-Ready. Pittsburgh Dilworth is a highly structured and disciplined setting for students who are most comfortable and successful in such a learning environment. PreK-5 parents and students sign a contract with the academy, ensuring that children will comply with strict regulations for conduct, attendance, homework, and appropriate dress.

Dilworth Early Childhood
PPS Early Childhood Education Programs provides early learning opportunities to approximately over 2,000 children a year from infancy through five-years of age throughout the City of Pittsburgh. The children and families served receive comprehensive services including education, nutrition, health, mental health, disabilities and social services. By meeting the needs of the “whole child” we ensure that all children are prepared for kindergarten entrance. All of our PPS Early Childhood classrooms operate for 6-hours a day. During that time all children are exposed to a research-based, high quality curriculum that is aligned to the PA Early Learning Standards and receive instruction individually, in small groups, and in whole group settings. Our children also have opportunities to receive specialized services in the classroom through our contracted providers or Early Intervention (as needed), to socialize with peers, and receive breakfast & lunch daily. To learn more about Early Childhood, visit www.pghschools.org/earlychildhood
