Technology Device Return
All district devices need to be reimaged before the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year. Schools are collecting student devices and hotspots this week from students who are NOT participating in District-led summer programming (ex. Summer Boost, CCS/Extended School Year (ESY) and Credit Recovery, etc.).
All seniors participating in commencement and receiving their diploma this weekend must return their device by Friday, June 11.
Please work with your students to back-up personal and work documents before turning in their device. Reimaging will delete all data on the devices. District devices not returned for reimaging and an update will not work for the 2021-2022 school year.
If you cannot drop off your child's device at school, please use a Technology Drop-off Center. Centers will be open on June 12, 13, 16, 17, 18 from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM at the following locations:

2940 Sheraden Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15204Students participating in District-sponsored summer learning programs, such as Summer BOOST and Extended School Year, may keep their devices until the completion of the program. Students in grades K-11 with designated Assistive Technology (AT) device(s) and NOT attending a summer program can keep their device until the AT device exchange on August 3, 2021. The device exchange will occur at the Program for Students with Exceptionalities (PSE) office located at Oliver Citywide Academy (OCA) located at 2323 Brighton Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Families will be notified via robocall.

1. Can my child keep their device if they are attending District-led summer programming?
Yes. Students attending District-led summer programming can keep their devices until the end of their summer program. Device collection will occur at summer programming sites after the program.
2. Can my child keep their designated Assistive Technology (AT) Device(s) for the summer if they are NOT attending summer programming?
Yes. Students in grade K-11 that have designated AT device(s) and are NOT attending CCS/ESY can keep their device until the AT exchange on August 3. The device exchange will occur at the Program for Students with Exceptionalities (PSE) office located at Oliver Citywide Academy (OCA) located at 2323 Brighton Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Families will be notified via robocall. Students can keep their devices until August 3.
3. When will my child receive an updated device?
New devices will be provided to students at the beginning of the school year by their school.
4. Why does my child need to turn in their District device?
All District devices will be reimaged and updated for the 2021-2022 school year. Devices not returned for reimaging and updates will not work.
5. What if my child’s device is lost or broken?
If a device was lost, please contact your child’s school for next steps. Broken devices can be returned at no cost.
