    Provides support in the classroom during the absence of a paraprofessional 

     
     

    High School Diploma  

     
     
     
     

    Day-to-Day Substitute  

    Nurse   

    (Certified Licensed Practical Nurse Instructors) 

     
     

    Provides health services to students during the absence of a school nurse 

     
     

    Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner  

    OR 

    Registered Nurse License 

     
     
     
     

    Day-to-Day Substitute  

    Professional (Teachers, Counselors, and Social Workers)  

     
     

    Instructs and provides support to students during the absence of a school-based professional 

     
     

    A Bachelor’s Degree  

    Note: A Pennsylvania Department of Education-issued certification(s) is preferred, but not required 

     

    OR 

     

    60 semester hours or the equivalent of courses and currently enrolled in a teacher preparation program in a Pennsylvania college or university that is accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. 

     
     
     
     

    Day-to-Day Substitute 

    Professional -  

    Building Substitute 

     
     

    Assigned to one school location and required to work every day 

     

    Instructs and provides support to students during the absence of a school-based professional or paraprofessional

    A Bachelor’s Degree  

    Note: A Pennsylvania Department of Education-issued certification(s) is preferred, but not required  

     

    OR 

     

    60 semester hours or the equivalent of courses and currently enrolled in a teacher preparation program in a Pennsylvania college or university that is accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. 

     
     
     
     

    Full-Time Substitute  

    (Teachers, Counselors, and Social Workers)  

     
     

    Instruct and provide support to students for forty (40) consecutive days or longer in the same assignment. 

     

    The assignment must be for the vacancy or absence of a school-based professional (Teachers, Counselors and Social Workers). 

     
     

    A Bachelor’s Degree  

    Note: A Pennsylvania Department of Education-issued certification(s) is preferred, but not required  

     

    OR 

     

    60 semester hours or the equivalent of courses and currently enrolled in a teacher preparation program in a Pennsylvania college or university that is accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
