Students from the School District of Pittsburgh enroll at 37 different charter and cyber charter schools across the commonwealth. Enrollment increases each year, which translates into increased tution payments to charter schools. For the 2020-2021 school year, the School District of Pittsburgh pays a PER PUPIL subsidy of $17,898.09 for general education and $42,851.39 for special education for students enrolled in charter schools. For the 2019-2020 school year, over $106 million dollars in tution was paid to charter schools.
