Charter School Enrollment

Students from the School District of Pittsburgh enroll at 45 different brick and mortar charter and cyber charter schools across the commonwealth. Enrollment increases each year, which translates into increased tuition payments to charter schools. For the 2022-2023 school year, the School District of Pittsburgh pays a PER PUPIL subsidy of $19,398.75 for non-special education and $46,517.99 for special education for students enrolled in charter schools. For the 2020-2021 school year, over $120 million dollars in tuition was paid to charter schools.
