Class of 2004Burley, a native son of the city and proud 2004 Schenley High School graduate, bestselling author of YNGBLKPGH, speaker, entrepreneur and an MBA graduate from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business is a change agent. The CEO of Burley + Company Enterprises, Burley was named as a 2015 BMe Community Leader for the work he is diligently committed to within his city to promote more positive imagery to the next generations of Black Pittsburgh. He also was awarded with the New Pittsburgh Courier's distinction of being one of 2016's 40 Under 40, a 2017 Men of Excellence Awardee from the Courier and Pittsburgh Magazine's 2017 40 Under 40 as well. His work and the book YNGBLKPGH have already been featured in WHIRL Magazine, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, on WPXI, WQED and the Pittsburgh Courier since its April of 2017 release, and is featured within schools for the next generation throughout the region and has even been adopted as the required reading for a college course locally.
Burley additionally owns several businesses locally, he is currently in the process of building out a foundation with his wife, Brittini, where they can both consistently push representation into the forefront of our most valuable assets, our children. He also is regarded as an esteemed name in the business consulting field around issues of both marketing and inclusivity. Burley also attended Morehead State University where he played football and excelled in on-campus leadership organizations. In his spare time, he volunteers at the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh's Y Achievers program as an Adult Achiever and works with the Penn State CITY Center Mentoring Program. He sits on the Advisory Board for Young Black Motivated Kings and Queens Youth Organization (YBMKQ), a 100 Black Men of Western Pennsylvania member, and volunteers through the Mentorship Collaboration with Public Source.
