The CTE Engineering Technology program introduces students to different types of engineering - including civil, mechanical, electrical and green. In this program, they learn about bioengineering, DNA experiments, fiber optics, bar codes, lasers and video technology. Students learn digital logic and gating functions and design and manufacture a printed circuit board to produce an operational digital timer. Students also study residential design, digital editing, and the operation of a 3D printer, CAD / CAM and CNC machining system to manufacture products. Program instruction includes, but is not limited to safety, ethics, power, problem solving, teamwork, engineering graphics, automated systems, fundamental electronics, manufacturing systems as well as adhering to the STEM initiative.
