As the teaching profession continues to evolve nationally, PPS chose to lead and shape its own path forward, collaboratively designing a teacher growth and evaluation system that truly reflects teaching in Pittsburgh.
In June 2017, nearly 1,700 Pittsburgh Public Schools teachers received Educator Effectiveness Reports that outline a comprehensive view of their performance. Each report provides teachers with detailed information about their practice in the classroom and their impact on student learning. These reports are a part of a growth and evaluation system developed by teachers, school leaders, the District, and the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers.
