    Link to Join PSCC Meetings: PSCC Meeting link will be emailed to you once you sign up for the meeting using the links listed in the chart in the attached letter, and at the bottom of this announcement. The monthly meeting links will close 48 hours prior to the meeting date. Participants who register will be sent the link 24 hours prior to the meeting. You must register to attend the meeting to maintain safety and security of our meetings. 
    Why attend? Attending Parent School Community Council Meetings (PSCC) is a great way to support your student and school! The purpose of the Pittsburgh Obama Academy PSCC is to provide ongoing communication between the school and parents, guardians and community groups regarding issues that are important to the success of our students.
    When are they? In order to be inclusive of our families, the PSCC Meetings will take place September 29, October 14, November 11, December 9, January 13, February 10, March 10, April 14, and May 12 6:30 PM-7:30 PM.

    Annual Title I Meeting: You are invited to a meeting to learn about Title 1 at Obama. Title I provides funding for our school for various areas. At this meeting, we will talk about our Title I program and be available to answer any questions you might have.

    Below is the schedule of upcoming picture days. Homeroom teachers will be reaching out with more specifics soon. 9th grade families with questions should reach out to their homeroom teachers immediately.

    In-Person Technology Support
    From Wednesday, September 16 until Friday, October 2, Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) is providing in-person technology support for students and families that are having trouble navigating their E-Learning device. Families can visit the following five schools for technology assistance Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM:
    Pittsburgh CAPA- 111 9th Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222
    Pittsburgh Carrick- 125 Parkfield Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15210
    Pittsburgh King- 50 Montgomery Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15212
    Pittsburgh Langley- 2940 Sheraden Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15204
    Pittsburgh Obama- 515 N. Highland Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206
    Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
    PPS encourages families to make an appointment, but walk-ins will be accepted. Families can schedule an appointment by visiting
    Families must bring their District-issued device, charger, and student log in information to the appointment. Appointments are scheduled in 20-minute increments, and families are asked to arrive ten minutes prior to the scheduled appointment.
    Technology Resource Centers will be open until Friday, October 2, 2020, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Evening hours are available through appointment only.
    Families must practice social distancing and wear a mask during each appointment.
    Remote Learning Hubs
    Out-of-School Time
    To best support families during this time, many of our approved Out-of-School Time providers have established their program facilities as Remote Learning Hubs. In these locations, students will have the opportunity to engage in their school day remote learning with the help and support of provider staff. We will continue to update these locations as more become available. While spaces at these Hubs may be limited, additional resources for in-person and virtual opportunities can be found at

    Attendance and Early Dismissals 
     Attendance will be taken every day in every class. If your student needs an early dismissal or will be absent that still needs to be documented just as if we were "at" school like normal.
