News Release Forty Facilities to Transition to Remote Learning for Remainder of the Week
PITTSBURGH, May 31, 2023 – Forty District schools will transition to remote teaching and learning for the remainder of the week. Teachers will facilitate live remote instruction on Microsoft Teams. Grab and Go meal service will be available at 14 locations across the District. The move comes on the heels of the Superintendent’s announcement of a new extreme heat protocol designed to keep students and staff safe. PITTSBURGH, May 30, 2023 – Today, Superintendent Wayne N. Walters, EdD, announced a new Extreme Heat Protocol for schools without sufficient air conditioning systems. The protocol will guide decisions regarding heat-related building closures and other actions while increasing transparency for staff and families related to the District’s decision-making process.
