    Early College in High School 

    Early College High School Pittsburgh Public Schools   

     

     

    The Early College High School program is offered at Pittsburgh Milliones University Preparatory School (U-Prep) through Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS). The program provides students the opportunity to simultaneously earn academic credits towards both their High School graduation requirements and college coursework.
     

    What is the mission of ECHS?

    To equip students with knowledge, strategies and skills that will help them successfully prepare, navigate and successfully complete college. In addition, ECHS connects to the vision of U-Prep and the school district, that all students graduate prepared for college, career and life.

    Typically serves college bound students

    Serves students who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education

    College courses are restricted to 11th and 12th grades

    College courses are blended into the high school’s curriculum and begin in 9th grade

    24 credit maximum

    60 credits is the goal for all students

    Limited academic support

    Academic and social supports are available

    Student may be charged for tuition costs
